 Forestry
Preservation of our urban forest has been a part of West U since 1992. This ordinance requires tree preservation plans in conjunction with construction activities and requires the evaluation and replacement of any healthy trees. Since 1992, the City has developed extensive tree preservation plans in conjunction with the infrastructure construction projects. The Forestry Division is actively involved with the Sidewalk program to ensure tree protection. A Tree Master Plan has been adopted by City Council. An inventory of all trees in right of ways, parks, and public properties has been completed (please see the GIS Map link on the home page).
