Notice of Tax Revenue Increase
The City of West University Place conducted public hearings on September 22, 2008 and October 13, 2008 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the City of West University Place from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 5.43 percent. The total tax revenue raised last year at last year's tax rate of $0.3660 for each $100 of taxable value was $13,008,719. The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.3590 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $13,685,135. The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.3590 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $13,989,796. The City Council of City of West University Place is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on October 27, 2008 at Council Chambers 3800 University Blvd. West University Place, Texas 77005 at 6:30 pm.

On Monday, August 11, 2008 your City Council approved a $13.8 Million Dollar Municipal Bond Election, which will go before the voters on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. The bond proposition is specifically for funding the re-development of the Colonial Park Pool & Recreation Center , the West University Recreation Center & Swimming Pool and remodeling specific elements of the Community Building & Senior Citizens Center. Immediately below, are the final re-development conceptual designs. Your comments and questions are welcome - please send your communications to the attention of myparks@westu.org. All communications received at this address will be forwarded to your City Council and Parks Board.
